(Mostly) Wordless Wednesdays #15: The Met’s First Location

Long before the Metropolitan Museum of Art made Central Park its home, it had just 174 works of art to its name. Instead of the massive Gothic-style building, these pieces were shown to the public in the Dodworth Building at 681 Fifth Avenue, which used to be a private residence!

Today, the building is home to a Tommy Hilfiger store.
